Meet team inSPIration-IOW,

Hi, my name is Danny, I have been asking people to help support me in my challenge to complete a tough mudder assault course. For those of you that don’t know, this course consists of 10 miles ofhills, thick mud pits and 25 obstacles to overcome, including ice cold tanks youhave to completely submerge yourself in twice to get out and electric shocktherapy consisting of dangling wires delivering 10,000 volt punches to get to the other end with no choice but to run through it. I'm attempting raise as much money for a charity that extremely close to my heart, have called on them myself when I could see noother way out from overpowering and scary thoughts of suicide I found myself having.  This charity only works with funding and kind donations to pay forvital life saving equipment and training. I want to not only raise as much as Ican for Suicide Prevention and Intervention IOW (SPIIOW) to assist in there quality community engagements but to also get their name and the work that do out inthe community’s around the Isle of Wight , to help others when they feel theyhave nowhere or nobody to turn to. Would would be extremely grateful for any donations and support offered our team 'inSPIration-IOW', we all know some that has been effected by mental health or suicide.

My name is Josh, I have suffered with mental health issuesfor the best part of 12 years ranging from depression through to anxiety andhave myself been at the brink of suicide on more than one occasion. I have alsoseen first-hand the devastation that suicide can cause not only to theindividual, but their families and friends. Not just the short-term grief butthe life long heartache knowing you will never see that person again in yourlifetime. I have run Tough Mudders (this being my 3rd) not only for my ownmental health as it proves to me I have the will power and strength to overcomeanything that may come my way, but push and help others overcome their owndemons. SPIIOW is an incredible charity which I hold close to my heart as itoffers vital intervention to those most at risk of suicide and help provide thesupport that people most desperately need.

My name is Ben, I have personally been affected by suicide;my dad took his own life at the age of 52. That was 20 years ago now and theonly charity I was aware of at the time was The Samaritans. I would not haveknown how to contact them and there was a stigma attached to mental healthillness, men did not ask for help support as it was considered a sign ofweakness. It is important to keep campaigning so the message can reacheveryone that they are not alone and there are people ready to listen, preventand carry interventions out when needed and this is where SPIIOW are amazing.

Hey, I'm Sean! I have chosen to get involved in helpingraise money for Suicide Prevention and Intervention IOW (SPIIOW). as I havebeen impacted by someone trying to take their own life. It's about time men nolonger need to man up, it's about time we decide to have a conversation aboutwhat is going on in our heads. We should be looking out for each other andstarting the conversation. It's much better to talk to someone than talk aboutthem. SPIIOW are a much needed charity and have helped and possibly saved somany people  already since they have beenestablished.

Please see below some pictures of the work duties, and equipment required for 1 volunteer to complete their work on a daily basis.
