There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow, Orison Marden.
Twin boys, Tosin and Felix, are several weeks away from making it to a full term delivery date, but the likelihood of that happening are low. The boys are Monochrionic Diamniotic Twins, mono/di, meaning they are sharing the same placenta, which is their blood supply, leaving them more susceptible to complications for the rest of the pregnancy and into their lives. Felix has already been affected by mono/di, resulting in improper growth, from a diagnosis of Intrauterine Growth Restriction, IUGR. He also has a cleft lip with possible palate involvement that will pose a series of problems for him with feeding initially and will need to be corrected when the time is appropriate.
On behalf of the parents of these two wonderful boys, Dianna and Joey, I’m asking for prayers and any financial support that you can offer – no amount is too small and the proceeds will bless them abundantly. Dianna has been restricted from working, and will remain with her twins (and their big brother, Junior) to care for her newborns special needs. She is currently 33 weeks along and set for induction at 37 weeks unless they make a surprise appearance before then. The top weight possible for each baby is 4 pounds, but is unlikely being that Tosin currently weighs 2 lbs and 9 oz and his brother Felix weighs 2 lbs and 3 oz. They will spend their NICU time at Detroit Children’s Hospital, which is over an hour commute each way, until they are strong enough to join the rest of their family at home. Please keep this amazing family in your thoughts and prayers as they embark on this wonderful journey with their new twins!
