Our dear friend and fellow controller, Tom Rasmussen, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 27th, due to on going complications with kidney/liver failure. He is survived by his wife and six children.

Tom has been a NATCA member and air traffic controller at Salt Lake City ARTCC since 2007. For over a decade, he and his family have battled with having a child with cystic fibrosis who has needed expensive healthcare regularly and will continue to need this for the foreseeable future.

Tom was a realist who was always good for making you laugh, he could turn any situation into something funny to lighten the mood. Even with all the difficulties he faced in life, he was constantly looking at the brighter side of a situation and would give it to you straight.

We will miss having him work next to us and hope you will consider donating to help his family with his memorial and ongoing family health expenses.
