To continue treatment options

Donation protected

Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I realise that I am again asking for help but the only alternative is to give up - and I simply won’t do that!
With that in mind, I've created this page in the hope that I can raise enough money to continue treatment now that my options here in the UK are coming to an end. After discussing my future treatment plans with my oncologistI I was advised that I only have a possible 2 more treatment options left that are available to me and for the type of tumours I have,

I am seeking support to enable me to go to the Hallwang  private clinic in Germany to undertake a specialist treatment plan for my specific cancers. This clinic is one of the best private clinics in the world offering the latest Integrated medicine along with alternative treatments.

Here is my story so far and the reasons I'm asking for help....
I’m Vicki Martinelli, a 43 year old wife and mum to two wonderful boys. I live in Waltham Abbey, Essex. I've always been someone who lives life to the full and enjoys every moment but back in 2014 our world was shaken when I was diagnosed with  Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
I underwent surgery, radiotherapy and Chemotherapy  which seemed to have been successful, but to our horror discovered in June 2017 that the Cancer had returned and spread to my brain, liver, bones, and lungs. The rug was pulled from under me when they told us, as this made it stage 4 and incurable, terminal cancer……there is no stage 5.  I also received the shocking news that they predicted I had just 2 months to live, but with support from family and friends, a positive attitude, conventional and alternative medicine and a great medical team I have defined the odds against me.

I started palliative chemotherapy and to this day am still undergoing it every three weeks. The most recent chemotherapy drug lasted just 5 months before it stopped working for me.   I have responded to some drugs better than others.  Some of the chemotherapies haven’t agreed with me and side effects of the drugs have been gruelling,  and landed me in hospital on a few occasions. However  I am still here fighting and have no intention of giving in to this crappy disease!
I've also had whole brain and stereotactic targeted brain radiotherapy.

With time of the essence, we started planning our wedding and I quickly got married to my long-term partner. Our friends, family and colleagues shared the most amazing day, full of love and obviously some tears too. To date we have celebrated our first wedding anniversary in a hot air balloon, seen my youngest start school and my eldest start senior school. I have kept living with gusto and I continue to defy the odds!

One of the things on my bucket list was to ride as a pillion passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Thanks to the kindness of total strangers (who have since become friends) my wish was granted.....in a big way.....the wish was simply for me and a handful of friends to be part of a ride out somewhere. Well one thing lead to another and 500 Harley's turned up with me and the girls at the front of the pack, ITV showed up to feature me on 'This Morning' and we closed the M25 (sorry about that). It was the most awesome day and is a memory that will live on forever. I need more time to make more wonderful memories and this is where, once again I find myself asking for the kind generosity of friends, family and strangers.

After discussing my future treatment plans with my oncologistI I was advised that I only have a possible 2 more treatment options left that are available to me,  for the type of tumours I have. I was also advised that as my tumours had spread to my brain I wouldn’t be eligible for any clinical trials here in the UK with the NHS –yet the research suggests these can be life-changing.

Not wanting to give up I started researching and speaking to others in similar situations to me and thats when I heard about the Hallwang Cllinic in Germany. This clinic is one of the best private clinics in the world offering the latest Integrated medicine along with alternative treatments.
After sending all my details, medical history etc to the Hallwang Clinic I was contacted for an initial consultation with the Doctor.

A week later I received the good news that the Hallwang clinic in Germany could help me and they put together an initial plan of treatment.

They feel I would benefit massively if they were to administer to me the latest integrated medicine including immune therapy vaccines. These latest treatments could possibly lead to ‘remission’ - a word that I have never before heard mentioned in secondary breast cancer.

However, I cannot start this as the cost of this treatment and vaccines at the private clinic are way beyond our financial means.

The initial cost of treatment over the first 6-8 weeks is in the region of 100,000 Euros.
I would undertake an initial 2 months of treatment, then have another scan where they would expect to see a good response from the Immune Therapy.

The approximate cost of the treatment for the year could be in the region of £250,000 this includes flights back and forth to Germany, treatment, accommodation, transport, medicines/pain relief, scans/MRIs, consultations, administration etc - but the Hallwang Clinic offer a more scientific medical treatment plan - and unfortunately these treatments are just not available here in the UK, or on the NHS, despite the success they have.

As you can see it is an enormous amount of money, that I have no way of paying, but I can’t let this be all that stands between me and my possible remission.
I have so much to fight for, so much to live for, my kids need their mum and my husband needs his wife! I cannot just sit back and let this disease take me from the amazing life I have!I am prepared to try anything to give me time with my family. I’ve managed to fit so many wonderful memories into this last year, but there are so many more waiting to be made. I wish I didn’t need to ask but its only through the enormous generosity of people like you that I will be able to have this opportunity.

Every penny raised will go towards funding my treatment, travel etc and should any money left unspent, it would be donated to St Clare's Hospice who will be looking after me in my final days.

With more thanks and gratitude than words could ever express, thanks from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to fight this.
