Camden and His Family

Camden Daniel Peterson was born on January 9th, 2020 weighing 5lbs. 6oz.
While little, Camden is a fighter. He proved that by fighting through multiple hospital stays, fast/shallow breathing, and struggling to grow.
He was admitted three times to the hospital before he was 4 months old thinking he had pneumonia. He would get slightly better, dismissed from the hospital, only to have to go right back.
He was referred to a pediatric cardiologist and it was discovered that he had a large Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). This occurs somewhere between .1 and .4% of babies.
The treatment for Camden was open heart surgery which took place on Tuesday May 12th, 2020. Camden came through the surgery well, but he has a long road of recovery and follow up surgeries ahead of him.
His family lives 2 hours away and will be back and forth between the hospital and their home. They also have a four year old at home, who is bouncing back and forth between family.
Camden’s dad (Caleb) just started as a Police Officer for the Ponca City Police Department.
The family’s time will be divided and this medical emergency has placed a significant financial burden on this sweet family.
