SRMS Tiny Space Whales DI Globals

The Spring Ridge Middle School Destination Imagination Team (SRMS DI Team) will be participating in the Global Finals May 25th through May 28th in Knoxville, Tennessee. Destination Imagination (DI) is the world’s largest celebration of creativity and teams from over 15 nations compete with one another in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and service learning Challenges.
Our SRMS DI Team is comprised of four 8th-grade students that have worked all year in preparation for competition and achieved an overall 1st place in both our regional and Maryland State Competitions. We are excited and enthusiastic about the opportunity to now represent SRMS and St. Mary’s County Public School System in the Global Competition.
We have a large fundraising goal to support travel, lodging, and associated expenses for the team members and team managers. The expected cost of our participation in the Global Finals is approximately $5500. We would greatly appreciate your help in reaching this target because this is an amazing opportunity to represent our school and school system while interacting with other students from across both our country and the world. DI has afforded us the opportunity to put in effect college and career readiness skills that we have worked on through our curriculum while “learning patience, flexibility persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas and the collaborative problem solving process.”
Thank you for taking the time to read this. As one of our sponsors, we will personally let you know how we do. If you would like any more information on Destination Imagination, please visit http://www.globalfinals.org.
All checks should be made payable to SRMS with “DI” written on the memorandum line.
Please mail checks, at your soonest convenience, to:
