Tiller’s Medical Fund

Ryan and Katie are our neighbors and our little guy Tilt and Tiller at BFFs and play all the time.

It’s been a whirlwind of a 4 days for Tiller!

Tiller is at North Star Vet in Robbinsville NJ. This all started Friday (6/12/20) he just wasn’t himself. Lethargic, panting, drooling, and would sit or stand in one spot and not move. Took him to the vet at Cummings Vet Hospital which is here in Easton, PA.  They did xrays and told Ryan and Katie no obstruction and that it was a bad stomachache and gave him antibiotics. He got worse throughout the night and didn’t sleep at all along with Katie.  He wouldn’t lay down and was Panting all night and crying when he moved. When Ryan Got home from work on Saturday morning he took tiller back to the vet and they did more xrays and bloodwork. They  told Ryan and Katie to go somewhere else because they couldn’t help them because they said they now all the sudden saw an obstruction. So Ryan and Katie took him to North Star because Katie’s friends wife works there. Ryan and Katie weren’t allowed to go inside so they sat in the car, the vet called them and they said they looked at his xrays and she said she's not so much concerned about his belly, she said that it's a little inflamed but that doesn't seem to be the issue, so now again no obstruction. She said his pain is back pain and his chest was sore too. She said that his jaw was a little hesitant to open as well. They thought it was meningitis. Said they would do an MRI and spinal tap today Monday (6/15/2020) when the neurologist was in.

Then Monday June 15, 2020 when Katie called in the morning, they said No neck pain anymore, has mild back pain which was originally the worst. There is swelling in his armpit on the left side. Lots of pain there. Meningitis not likely now after reviewing with a neurologist and the internal medicine doctor. They did a CT scan of area - left side and neck and part of back instead of MRI. They think it is an infection or something of that sort, possibly insect bite and got infected. He has no fever anymore which is good. Katie asked if it could have possibly been a tick bite and they said less likely because his joints are not swollen and with lymes that's what happens. Tiller’s CT scan went fine, he’s doing fine waking up from the anesthesia. The radiologist will review it and they will reassess it Tuesday (6/16/20).  They Started him on antibiotics and keeping him on pain meds.
Didn’t see anything obvious just inflammation/cellulitis of that area. They did a therapeutic laser to see if it helps. They are going to see how he responds to the antibiotics and see about coming home tomorrow. It all depends on his pain levels and if they can manage it on oral medicine rather than the IV. The pain is the biggest concern.

Please consider making a donation to help cover the medical expenses for Tiller’s  vet visits and hospital stay.

Thank you
