My little brother and his beautiful family have had their world turned upside down.
If you don’t know my brother, he is a badass. Kris is a United States Marine Corp Veteran and extremely talented boat builder. He works hard every day as the sole provider for his family. Kim and Kris have two awesome little dudes and just learned that they will be expecting baby number 3 in May.
They also just learned that Kris has a tumor in his thoracic region and will require invasive surgery to remove it. This surgery is scheduled for Monday, October 7th. The tumor is medically referred to as Thymoma and is a cancerous tumor. They will not know the extent of further treatment until after it is removed. The surgery requires the same method conducted for open heart surgery and will require approximately 4 months of recovery before he can return to his job that requires physical labor.
Kris is receiving all of his treatment through the Veteran’s Association (VA) Medical Center but they do not have resources for disability assistance for this type of situation.
In order to help them during this time where they will not have an income to provide for their family, I have set up this page.
For the rest of 2019 the Thorpe family will be facing a scary battle while trying to keep life as stable as possible for Kai (4) and Ziggy (2). Please help them in any way you feel led. Anything helps and is beyond appreciated. All donations will be used for mortgage, utilities, food and medical bills/prescriptions/procedures not covered by the VA.
