Hello, my name is Thomas Baker, and I am a Boy Scout of Troop 7 in Clinton, CT.
I started scouting in 2nd grade and during this incredible journey, I have learned many life skills that I hope to use later in my life. I have gone through countless experiences that I never would have thought of doing had it not been for Scouting. I have spent most of my life in Clinton, CT. I wanted to give back to the town, and knew that an Eagle Project was a good way to do so.
My Eagle project is to replace the sign in front of the Police Station in Clinton. This will give it a fresh new look in addition to being more visible from the road than the current sign. The current sign is beginning to rot away and is becoming faded. My plan is to use a giant boulder as the structure and have the sign face made of metal and placed on both sides of the rock. This project will also help younger scouts move to higher ranks through service hours and get them closer to an Eagle rank of their own.
The funds will be used to purchase materials such as the sign and rent equipment needed to install the sign at the Police Station.
The Eagle Rank is the highest rank in scouting. This achievement shows dedication and leadership through the completion of a Boy Scout service project in which I will lead a group of people in completing this project.
Completing this project is a summary of the knowledge I have gained as well as a big milestone in Scouting. It will furthermore bring Scouts together in the troop, as well as the community outside of the troop.
