Therese Lefebvre Needs Our Help

Damn it everybody Therese has cancer!

Dear Friends,

Our Beloved Ms. Therese Lefebvre, mother, daughter, sister, niece, valued friend and vital and essential part of her creative community, was diagnosed on Jan. 20, 2022 with invasive squamous cell carcinoma and cervical cancer, involving a large tumor.

Therese celebrated her birthday this year by beginning her course of chemotherapy, and will also undergo radiation and surgery, requiring at least 4-6 months of continuous treatment by conservative estimates, according to her oncologist's outline.

As many of you know, Therese is a self-employed freelance costumer and wardrobe stylist, bringing her incredible creativity, exacting eye, tireless energy, mercurial humor, and pure style magic to some of the greatest artists, music videos, style campaigns on the planet. She’ll be putting a pause on her work so she can bring that amazing focused attention to her healing, and to the single parenting of two fabulous boys, aged 10 and 14.

Because Therese is young and healthy, her cancer is treatable, and the hope is that she could come out stronger than she goes in, but her road will be hard, friends. Her cancer is advanced, and she will need immediate help with considerable medical expenses, and meeting ever-changing needs on a daily basis. Therese is facing this challenge with the same humor, commitment, courage and all around badassery that she brings to every phase of her work and her life. She knows how to represent and she shows up for her people. She is always there to lend a hand, but never to ask for herself. 'Lefebvre' is spelled D. I. Y. Not asking for help is a gene she inherited from both sides of the family so we are asking for her. Anyone who has worked or lived with Therese knows the fantastic collaborative energy she brings to everything she does in the world. So let's bring our own collaborative spirit and imagination to rally 'round this person we love and respect so very much by tailoring our support to her evolving needs, whether one time contributions, small amounts weekly, or messages of love given in our own ways and days. Any amount you can put toward her fight will help ensure that she and her boys come through this healthy and whole. And: that her cancer may go fuck itself.
