The Pillowcase Project
Donation protected
The Pillowcase Project is a grassroots effort to dress
orphans and empower women in a small village in Western Kenya. Here's how it
works. We will use the funds to purchase supplies to make pillowcase dresses
for the orphans and supply bags that will be given to the women in the village.
The supply bags will have everything that is needed for the women to make their
own pillowcase dresses. Once we are there, we will teach the women how to make
the dresses and sell them, empowering them to become more self-sufficient. Our
first trip will be taking 16 people in late September where we will hand
deliver these items.
UPDATE!!!
Our trip to Kenya was an amazing success! We are in the process of planning another trip summer of 2014! We are so grateful for your continued support!
Mission Statement:
The mission of The Pillowcase Project is to create lasting, sustainable change for women, children, and families living in third world countries. We empower them by providing the tools and necessary means to improve their lives. The foundation of The Pillowcase Project is rooted in the tangible act of collecting new and gently used pillowcases, repurposing them into dresses for distribution to children and as a business option for women.
