The Give BACK 6

Every year the holiday season comes around and there are families in the Halifax Regional Municipality who have may not have the opportunity to enjoy a holiday meal. Although the holidays are an exciting time with food, fun and family, not everyone shares the same excitement.

 

The Give BACK believes that ALL of us can play a role in ensuring that those around us are doing & living well. We believe that taking a collective responsibility to ensure our friends in our communities across HRM are doing well is what this initiative is all about.

 

What Happened to date?

 

Since 2016, The Give BACK raised approximately $14,889 from community member donations in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The money raised helped provide 156 families across HRM with a Holiday meal, toys for kids or a grocery gift card. The Give BACK since 2016 also donated approximately 150 pounds of canned goods and $1,374 to Feed Nova Scotia.. Each family received a $25 turkey, stuffing, potatoes, carrots, turnips, sweat potatoes, butter, chocolates & candies, cranberry sauce, canned corn & peas and a gift card just in case we forgot anything! The Give BACK also donated approximately 150 pounds of canned goods and $900 to Feed Nova Scotia.

 

100% of the proceeds go to families locally in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

 

It is amazing when we all come together! Although monetary donations are the cornerstone of this initiative community can also take part by spreading the word through social media, at your work place or in your community.

 

Delivery of the food will take place between December 14th -December 20th.

 

We want to make this holiday season a special one for as many families across HRM as we can!
