The EXCHANGE Hurricane Relief Trip

My Name is John Hoogeveen, I am from the small town of Hamilton, Michigan. My family and I are missionaries to Puerto Rico, currently serving in Dorado,PR through our covering church, In His Presence Worship Center located in Carrollton, GA. DUE TO THE IMPACTS OF HURRICANE IRMA WE WILL NOW ALSO BE RAISING FUNDS FOR RELIEF EFFORTS ON THE ISLANDS HIT THE HARDEST.

As missionaries in Puerto Rico, we often meet people from all over the world, frequently ministering to those who do not plan to stay in Puerto Rico permanently. This was the case as of recently. A military family (Army), who became close friends and part of our house church recently left the island to go back home. Their family lives in the effected hurricane areas in Texas and Louisiana.

As servants of the Lord, we have a desire to go on a disaster relief trip to help these families and others. 

We will serve the people of Texas and or Louisiana in any means possible, clean up, prayer ministry, construction, comfort... the list could go on. 

 The funds raised would cover all travel expenses, $1100 for 3 round trip plane tickets out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, flying into Austin, TX. The remainder would be used for all other expenses, food, materials needed for victims, ground transportation,  etc. Any excess funds would be donated to families we meet and help.

 The need for funds is immediate. We hope to be there within two or three weeks and to stay for 3-4 days. 

 This support will mean that my teen children will get to serve alongside me showing the love of Jesus in a time of need, as we help families in need.

 It is not so much our thankfulness that matters as much as it is the thankfulness of those we are going to help. Your help will mean hope will be brought to the lives we touch while there. The thankfulness expressed could never be enough.

Upon funds reaching the amount needed for plane tickets, it will be withdrawn in order to purchase tickets in a timely manner to get the lowest price. The remainder of the funds will be spend upon arrival in Austin and Houston. 

Our intention is to rent a car from Enterprise as we have a corporate account with them.
