OUR PROJECT

“The Stans” are countries that you know exist, but have never really heard of; our banana shaped itinerary will take us through the canyons of Kazakhstan, the planes of Kyrgyzstan, the mountains of Tajikistan, the ancient cities of Uzbekistan to help the organization Youth Of Osh.

Youth Of Osh (referred to us by UNICEF) was created in 2008 with the mission of preparing young leaders for the development of Kyrgyzstan. In Kyrgyzstan, 1/3 of the population is under the poverty line. Poor WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities are a major problem in many schools, particularly in rural areas, which could also be an important cause of adolescent girls dropping out of school. We want to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions in local communities through education, in order to give a chance to the next generation.

In order to complete our mission, we need YOUR help. All donation, big or small, will go to infrastructure projects, including sanitation facilities in school nº27.

ABOUT US

Best friends since high school, we’ve been lucky to live incredible adventures together, facing the Laotian jungle, climbing a volcano in Indonesia, skiing in Dubai, kayaking from island to island in the Philippines, but our greatest exploit is yet to come. Moving back to Paris after one year in Hong Kong, we have taken on the challenge of coming home by land. After 3 weeks in China to complete the first leg of our trip, from Hong Kong to Kyrgyzstan by train, we will start The Bananistan Project.
