Theater Development Project Enfield NC

Hi, we are Drew & Myra. We moved to this wonderful little forgotten town about a decade ago. We fell in love with this old 1927 Masonic Lodge building and combined with our love of theater and music had to purchase the building. Well purchase price and rehab price are two very different things.

We have recently brought in a partner who has great expertise in redeveloping historic properties utilizing historic tax credit funding.

Our town, Enfield NC, is a poor, struggling town. So, why build a theater and arts program here? Good question. There is talent and energy here in our local school system. Many of these kids may have never been exposed to theater, music or any type of arts program. We want to work with the school system to provide that arts & music experience for these kids.

We are developing an architectural and engineering study now so that we can identify the costs to redevelop the building. We want to include a space for a restaurant/bar on the second floor which should help to subsidize the more not for profit theater activities. We believe it has ROI potential for investors by adding the restaurant/coffee shop component.

But we wanted to see if there were friends and fans of theater that would endeavour to support us in our efforts. Hopefully through the power of the internet we can find fans willing to give as low as $25 towards getting us on the way to an investor plan.

We don't have tshirts or caps as yet but if you provide your contact info when we get to a point we can order a Lodge tshirt/cap we will send out to anyone that supports us. We just hope you will help us in our mission to bring arts and theater to an economically impoverished region.
