Support the Hurtig-Zahm Family

On Tuesday, September 3rd my brother-in-law Fredrik Hurtig died from cancer at the age of 45. He was in his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. The depth of the devastation is palpable and beyond words. Fredrik's presence was big, full of life and constant. My sister Sorrel and the three beautiful children she shares with Fredrik, Mateo (12), Sienna (11) and Evelin (7), are reeling from the suddenness. They have lost a pillar in their lives, a source of happiness, support and huge love. How can this be?

Thank you to all who have sent loving messages and flowers. Thank you for the meals, the kind words and for sharing in our sorrow. Please keep it coming. This grief is going to last a long time.

Sorrel is now supporting herself and three children on her own. For those of you who are able and wanting, please make a donation to the Hurtig Family. We hope to raise at least $30,000 to provide the family with five to six months of living expenses including rent, food, transportation and lingering medical bills. These funds will ease the financial stress the family is under. We are grateful for all contributions small and large.
