The Weight Of It Short Film

Hello! My name is Sarah Hosford. I am an actor originally from Cork in Ireland, based in London.

I am the writer and producer of 'The Weight Of It'.

We are so excited that this film goes into production in February this year! I certainly had underestimated how expensive getting a film made is!

The topic of this film is deeply personal to me and if I can help even one person by sharing it then I will have done my job!!

We are saturated, particularly at this time of year, with Diet Culture all over our phones. What sometimes can be perceived as health kicks are quite often motivated solely by aesthetic goals.

My film brings into question how far we as a society are willing to celebrate weight loss. Through the character of Orla, we see how lonely her obsessive pursuit of the 'perfect' body can be.

The conversations I have already had with people around this topic have been really quite profound. My goal is for this film to reach and help as many people as possible!
