Hi we are Jonathan Goulet and Pete Rodley. Both now retired from the MMA game, we advocate for mental health awareness, communication, and overcoming adversity through outdoor activity.

Help us help people bring out their inner warrior!

Mental illness has been, and continues to be, a challenge for many people. While many people struggle with their mental well-being, how they cope with this challenge plays a pivotal role in the impact mental illness has on their lives. To help combat the detrimental effects of some of the more harmful coping strategies, we promote following the Warrior Path, bringing out one's inner warrior through outdoor physical activity and open communication.

The Warrior Path was created by Jonathan Goulet in 2020 with the intention of increasing mental health awareness, encouraging people to communicate when in crisis as well as utilizing the healing properties of physical activities outdoors. A retired Mixed Martial Arts athlete and UFC competitor, Mr. Goulet fell into a dangerous mental state after the end of his career but through the expressing of his thoughts and embracing the outdoors his inner warrior now shines. By sharing his personal story and how he overcame depression, Goulet has touched the lives of countless people all over the world. On December 10, 2021, Jonathan teamed up with long time colleague Pete Rodley who promoted many of Jonathan’s pre-UFC competitions. After a 20-year career, retirement was met with many challenges which Rodley also conquered via various outdoor activities.
Goulet and Rodley will bring the Warrior Path events to a proposed 20 communities annually. Much like the inaugural event, a public walk, story sharing, visits to schools, meeting with medical professional and individual meetings will be scheduled. Online promotional material will be created, and all motivational meets will be recorded to view on social media, internet radio and YouTube.

THE FIRST WARRIOR WALK
DECEMBER 10TH, 2021
ESPANOLA, ONTARIO

Despite the challenges posed by the start of the 4th Covid wave and questionable weather, the Warrior Walk was a success.

Organizations that support the Warrior Path include Cambrian College, Sudbury Mental Health, Espanola General Hospital, The Family Health Team, Rainbow District School Board, and the Town of Espanola.

The inaugural Warrior Walk had approximately 60 participants from age 6 to 73.

Jonathans visit to Espanola High School was held in a class of 23 students and 3 teachers. The talk was viewed live throughout every classroom totaling 230 students reached.

At the Espanola General Hospital Jonathan met with Nurses, Social Service Workers, Hospital I. T. and executives totaling 15 medical professionals who braved the weather to enjoy the outdoors and become inspired.

Local radio, Moose 99.3 FM sponsored all the advertising, interviews and news coverage fully supporting the Warrior Walk with an entire month of heavy promotion spot rotation, interviews, jock talk and online promotion. An estimated 25,000 heard the message that the Warrior Path advocates.

The Sudbury Star provided a full page to promote the event to its 15,000 circulation.
Two-hundred-and-fifty large event posters were strategically placed at key locations as well as sponsor locations.
The Warrior Path social media campaign reached nearly 4,000 people.

The Town of Espanola advertised the walk on two large LED signs as well as their social media resources.

What the Warrior Path will deliver in 2022:
