The Silhouettes Need Your Help for Shaylynn!

Tax deductible
The Silhouettes, Inc., first runner-up on America's Got Talent season 6, need your help securing a service dog for another young lady, Shaylynn.  Through their efforts, they have already raised the $18,000 needed for little Cameron!  Job well done!

Like Cameron, Shaylynn suffers from epilepsy.  Shaylynn, an AMAZING 14 year old Epilepsy Warrior, working her *tail* off for a Seizure Response Dog!  She can’t do this alone.  Shaylynn “Shay” began her Epilepsy journey when she was 8, with the first of many Tonic Clonic seizures. She was quickly diagnosed with Epilepsy and began multiple unsuccessful medication trials that provided no lasting relief. Her seizures have continued changing and becoming more dangerous and her loving mom, Crystal, has sought any and all answers. Shay has a VNS implanted in October and they are hopeful that it will start bringing some relief.

With all this, she still smiles, still lives her best life, still gives life her all!

Shay was accepted into her trainer'sprogram and, after The Chelsea Hutchison Foundaton was able to provide a generous donation, they still need help raising funds for Shay’s life-saving Service Dog! We are $13,000 away from helping Shay so any size donation is greatly appreciated. The funds go directly to the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation and are transferred directly to the dog trainer who is providing the life-saving training for Shay's future service dog.  Help bring light to the shadows and give today!

Cameron's Story:  Cameron suffers from epileptic seizures.  Cameron, is 5 and a half and has 1 (of only 2) of the most severe forms of Epilepsy that exists. He is independent and spirited, busy, funny, and smart. He is courageous, empathetic, and the kindest person I know.

How can we keep helping him fight the beast that is LGS and STILL be all these things, as he gets bigger, stronger, and demands more of his independence? Cam is a boy who seizes every day and every night. Good days, bad days, fun days... and his nights can be filled with any of 5 different types of seizures. Many of his seizures are subtle. Others, not so much! He has had countless days with 100’s of seizures. At night, Cam's parents rely on a nighttime monitor, the SamiAlert camera, to keep an “eye” on him! And it’s amazing technology. However, having a seizure response dog, as agreed upon by his entire medical team at Seattle Children’s, is the SAFEST way to let Cam live and THRIVE . A dog trained to recognize his seizures  while awake AND sleeping, will alert his family, roll him on his side, perform medical tasks, help retrieve medication, help calm him when smaller seizures cause sensory concerns, help him with stability when seizures affect his ability to control his movements, and so much more! And a best friend... who will open the door to people talking TO him, not looking at him weirdly or ignoring him altogether, because they aren’t sure what’s going on with

More information about Chelsea Hutchison Foundation: CHF grants comfort and hope to those affected by epilepsy through providing monitoring resources, vital information, and a safe haven for conversation and community. Our main goal is to raise awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families living with epilepsy. We educate about SUDEP, provide grants for service dogs and lifesaving movement monitors that help to protect against SUDEP. We also grant wish trips to Epilepsy Awareness Educational Expo and Day at Disneyland each November.
