The Project Trishna Fund

'Trishna' means thirst in Bengali. Just as the title suggests, the money raised through this fund will be used to set up systems in underprivileged communities in Bangladesh which are suffering from lack of access to safe drinking water.

Project Trishna, implemented by Footsteps Foundation in 2015, has set up devices in various public areas and communities in Bangladesh where people can freely access safe drinking water. The recent module of Project Trishna targets schools serving low income communities. Many children in such communities often miss classes due to water based diseases such as diarrhea and dysentery, and by setting up a water system in these schools can significantly improve the health condition of children and ensure their access to both safe water and quality education. 

As a Bangladeshi student at Penn State who has personally seen the impact of this project's work, I would love others to have the opportunity to change the lives of people, especially children, in Bangladesh by helping them get the access to safe water that they need. 

All proceedings from this campaign will be personally withdrawn and donated to Footsteps Foundation for 'Project Trishna' via wire transfer, which will be used to identify communities and schools with water needs and ensure water accessibility in these places.
