The Pollinator Project 2020 Season

Donation protected
Hello! Welcome to The Pollinator Project's Go Fund me page. We're a youth lead non-profit that aims to rejuvenate pollinator health. Our core beliefs are three fold:

1. Pollinators are one of the most important links in our food chain, and directly effect the health of global food supplies, economies, and environments.

2. Human expansion greatly decreases natural habitat, which is detrimental to the health of pollinators.

3. In order to co-exisst sustainably with our pollinators, we must work to re-integrate them into our human dominated habitats (like commercial and urban areas).

Every spring/summer, our organization (now standing strong with over 130 members) sets out to transform unused public areas into green space and combat environmental issues. Particularly, we like to advocate for minor changes in social attitudes that go a long way in helping us combat environmental issues (like leaving beneficial weeds in) - harmful attitudes that are otherwise esoteric and go insidiously unnoticed by the general public.

Thanks to people like you we were able to all of the following in our previous season in the spirit of 'Saving the Bees':

1. Plant 14 new public pollinator-friendly gardens.

2. Plant over 30 residential green spaces.

3. Lobby three municipalities (Surrey, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam) for the better accommodation of pollinators in urban settings.

4. Launch a social change campaign to spread awareness about the utility of weeds, and how leaving them in can be crucial in helping us save the bees.

Though all of this has been accomplished in the Greater Vancouver Area (where we're based), we'll be taking our environmental vocation to the international stage in the coming 2019-2020 season. When you donate today, here's what your contribution will be going towards:

1. Advocating for sustainable change in foreign countries (like championing the use use of geothermal, solar, and wind energy in lieu of fossil fuels)

2. The creation of more public pollinator gardens

3. Empowering youth groups from all over North America to plant pollinator friendly wildflowers in unused residential areas
