The People's Foodbank

The People’s Foodbank was set up in response to Covid-19 which played havoc with all our lives particularly the most vulnerable. Since then, we have grown from delivering food from the boot of a local Pastors car to become a company limited by guarantee supporting 360 households (550 children - 500 adults approx.) across Dublin. We also donate to homeless and community outreach groups.

Christmas is an incredibly special time for the foodbank and last year we delivered 400 festive Christmas hampers and 150 Christmas cooked dinners across Dublin. With the cost-of-living crisis in Ireland, this Christmas is going to be a particularly difficult one for many and the Foodbank is experiencing a devasting rise in need for our services.

This gofundme was created back in 2020 but we are renewing our appeal for assistance this Christmas as along with increased demand, we too have felt the impact of the crisis and are finding the huge jump in food, electricity and fuel costs testing.

These are challenging times for everyone this year, but if you have anything to spare to help make Christmas a little easier for those in need, your support will be hugely appreciated.
