The Pantry Partnership CIC - A Good Helping

Donation protected

The Pantry Partnership is a social enterprise using surplus food to reach out to people in our community to reduce loneliness, rehabilitate, include and integrate people through interactive cooking sessions and communal meals.  In response to COVID-19, we have been running a project to deliver a stop gap of fresh food and Pantry made meals to people across Salisbury ( and Amesbury/Tisbury).

During this time we have adapted our service provision to meet new and emerging needs and to maximise our impact via our wonderful and resilient volunteer resource. During this time we have collected over 8 tonnes of surplus food (nearly 8x the amount we collected in the whole of 2019!), picking up where local community/church groups who would usually have collected in this time, had to cease their daily and weekly service activities. In partnership with others, this food has been distributed to support nearly 2,000 individuals to reach a variety of people including those in refuges, care homes and hostels in and around Salisbury.

As things start to reopen we continue to support in this way by sending food to community groups and charities to enable them to reach out and support the people who need it most.

As a social enterprise,  ‘normal business’ includes generating our own income to enable us to do what we do but COVID has put a stop to that - as such we have lost all of our revenue generating income streams and are surviving on donations and funding. We feel that there has never been a more important time to do what we do, we have seen an increase in both the demand for our services and the need to collect increasing amounts of surplus and any help in making a small donation really will make a difference to us, enabling us to continue to flex and adapt to support local people and save more food from going in the bin.

Any donations help to ensure that those who need support  receive meals and fresh groceries from the surplus we collect. Because we receive most (approximately 95%) of our food  for free any donations help us to sort, prep, store, cook and deliver that food. .

Beyond that we aim to be able to secure our future so that we can get back to normal business and once again be able to cater for your events and play a part in local festivals and community activities.

Please help in any way you can; together we can make sure Salisbury gets the support it needs.

Thank you!
