The New Era Drum and Dance

My name is Laurence Parker and after much prayer and thought, I’ve reached a decision. I will be bringing to the community a drum line and dance-line in the Hampton and Newport News Area.

All staff members will serve as role models and mentors to all students who are a part of the program.

We are very aware that we are in the middle of a pandemic. We are also aware of CDC guidelines. However, we would like to bring this to our youth because a lot of them have been inside of their homes or running around the communities with very little to do recreationally since March 2020 due to the pandemic. This is our way of giving our students an outlet to learn and have fun while staying safe.

We are asking that you the community, family and friends help us by making a monetary donation. The money raised will be used for purchasing new percussion equipment and to help keep up with maintenance on all instruments. Funds will also provide the necessary equipment and uniforms for both percussionists and dancers, as well as help to secure our own building for practices, study halls and different community events for our students. We will also be purchasing cleaning supplies in bulk so we can make sure all equipment that we have, and our children and staff, will stay healthy and sanitized.
