The Miller family needs our help!!!
Hello everyone,
My name is Danielle, I am here on behalf of Jennifer & Josh Miller. Jennifer's husband Josh was diagnosed with malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, and given 2-5 years to live with no treatment. They are now stuck in limbo with medicaid, they are married, & she makes too much money to qualify. Even after cutting her income down to barely surviving they still do not qualify for medicaid. They are also raising their 4 children. They NEED our help and she is too humble to ask for it herself. I asked her to write down her story to share with you. If you feel led, please donate. If you cannot donate, and are the praying type, please pray. Josh needs a miracle at this point. We sincerely appreciate everyone for giving in whatever capacity you are able. God bless you.
***From Jennifer:
In the very beginning josh would tell me, I feel this tingly sensation when I put my deodorant on, months went by before we noticed this lump under his right arm pit.
March 14 he had the tumor removed
April 14 the results came back it was malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (2-5yr to live with no treatment)
Since the diagnosis we have been fighting to get Medicaid but they keep denying us. We can't get SSI or disability first because here in Texas it will take 2yrs for Medicaid to kick in once you are approved for SSI or disability. I'm getting the run around from MD Anderson in Houston, San Antonio and Galveston. I've called charities, and churches. We're looking high and low for answers and we're not getting anything but brick walls. Someone knows something we don't.
I'm truly feeling like I'm going to end up losing my husband at a young age, because I can't seem to correlate the right words to get these people to say "yes", that they will help my husband. We're financially struggling as a family paying out of pocket for oncology appointments(400-600-or more). Even if you can't help monetarily, I believe in the power of prayers and there is strength in the number of prayers, please, please pray for our family as we continue to navigate this battle. Josh's tumor is growing back after being removed in March, we still haven't got radiation. Thank you to all of you that have helped us navigate this journey this far.
I then asked Jennifer how much she needed to get him treatment. She didn't have a definitive answer, but she did respond with this:
***From Jennifer:
Girl I really have no idea, that's another reason I was so skeptical in doing this, idk what everything is going to cost, they're telling us radiation alone could be anywhere from 10 thousand to 50 thousand depending on how much he needs. We're going to pay another consult charge, 400 this time at md Anderson in San Antonio to see if maybe they will give us exact numbers (because the radiologist that dr.daggubati referred us too wouldn't see us because josh didn't have insurance, waste of money) but at this point, time isn't on our side with it growing back I'm praying for someone to be an angel to be put on our paths and tell us what we're doing wrong. Put it at what ever you feel.
I decided to put the goal somewhere in between that 10-50k mark. We have no idea total cost of treatment. We pray that he will get the help he desperately needs. His life is literally depending on it.
