The Last Lesson

Life has its way of teaching all of us lessons. Some of those lessons are easy, some are hard and some we have to learn more than once. Pat is no exception.
He lives his life with passion, humor, compassion, stubborn determination with a "can do" attitude. Giving up or quitting are not words in his vocabulary. So, this lesson is particularly hard.
Patrick is in the midst of his last lesson, a hard lesson for him and those of us who love him. Truth is, all of us have been a part of or will be, the center of this particular lesson. This lesson of love, humility and acceptance can be overwhelming. This lesson for Patrick is all of that and more.
Asking for help is hard when you have prided yourself on being the helper. Seeing as how Pat won't ask you for help - I will.
I'll ask first and foremost that if you know him , send him a "word of love" a word of humor, he's got the best grin. If you pray, keep him and his family in your prayers. Lastly, I'm asking, if you are able to, help financially. Pat has been unable to work or provide for his family for several months now and as it does, finances are dwindling with medical and simple daily living expenses. Hospice, an amazing organization has been called in to help. An incredible group of people have come thru his door the last couple of days, from medical to spiritual advisors. Gratitude and love surround his home right now.
Asking and Accepting are two of those words attached to a multitude of lessons life offers, and ones not always, easily or quickly learned.
We are, with great humility and overwhelming gratitude asking and accepting.
With love,
Patrick

All of us - his siblings
All of us - his extended family
All of us - his friends
