The journey on for Ukraine´s refugees

As of mid June ‘22, over 4 million refugees from Ukraine - mainly women and children - have made the dangerous journey to the Polish border.
They have been greeted with all the care and kindness that both the Polish people and aid organisations can offer, but there is a limit to how much help can be provided within Poland.
As such, we are organising onward transport and care for those who have been through this ordeal, helping them to continue their lives in safer environments until the situations improves and they are able to return home once again.
We have just completed our first few journeys, but need more funding if we are going to help more families, providing:
- Transport from the Polish border to Scandinavia, covering all fuel, ferry, and food costs
- Accommodation for 6 months from the point of arrival
- Food, living expenses (healthcare, communication home, utilities etc.) for the same period
In addition we are providing a small but adequate amount of spending money during the family’s stay - it may not seem like the most important thing, but replacing a child’s favourite toy left behind can make a world of difference.
We have already put together an on-site solution with a contact person to help the families settle into pre-arranged accommodation and facilitate schooling for children and solve any other bureaucratic headaches (which are the last thing these families need).
The total cost of moving and caring for two families for 6 months is approximately SEK 200,000. For this sum, we can achieve something that has a massive impact on families traumatised and impacted by an unjust war in which they are blameless victims.
