The JIggy Crew Haiti Trip

The JIggy Crew is built on one main principle, that demands us, dreamers, to be a force within our respective communities. We are the Leaders of the New World and it is our mission to give back to our communities. As a co-founder of the JIggy Crew and a First Generation Haitian American, I feel that it is my duty to go back to where my family is from and do everything I can to give back. In 2015, I was blessed with an opportunity to go to my parent’s hometown Cap Haitien, Haiti and feed over 500 people during my uncle’s basketball tournament. I collected 15 backpacks filled with school supplies for some of the participants in the tournament. This year The JIggy Crew has decided to expand their participation in this special event! On May 23rd, we plan to go to Cap Haitien and give away 100 custom made backpacks. We need your help! We need to raise $3,500 to cover the costs of the custom-made backpacks as well as the school supplies and transporting the backpacks overseas. I love visiting Haiti. It reminds me that if my family didn’t make the sacrifices that they did, I would have fallen victim to the challenges my parents struggled to remove themselves from. We hope to become yearly participants and increase our participation and contribution to this event in the future to help others.
