Dear friends, family and loving donors:
My dear friends Becky and Richard Henselen have been through many ups and downs in their 12 years of marriage, including the challenge of infertility early on. For 10 years, they struggled to build their family through medical intervention, with no luck. Three years ago, they started the adoption process through a local agency, and they were presented with a perfect baby boy, Teddie, in March of 2016! (the little red-headed boy in the picture) At that time, they considered themselves to be perfectly blessed by this miracle and were satisfied that they would be a family of 3............until almost two months ago.
In mid-October, Becky received a phone call from the adoption agency letting her know that Teddie's birth mother had given birth to another little boy, and that she wanted the Henselen's to have first dibs on his adoption. She had seen how beautiful Teddie was being raised by Becky and Richard, and she trusted that this little boy would be raised just as well. Of course, when presented with the option to grow their little family with another addition - especially an addition that shared Teddie's blood - they couldn't say no! That same day, Becky drove to a little town in Idaho to claim their new son, Benjamin Tobias.
But with private adoption comes adoption fees, and that is where all of us come in. Becky and Richard had saved and saved for the thousands of dollars it would cost to adopt Teddie. As some of you my know, adoption costs include agency fees, court fees, paperwork filing, birth mother support, etc. Since Benny was a surprise blessing, his adoption fees were not in the budget (especially right before Christmas!)
My hope is that through your support, friends, we can help the Henselen's pay the outstanding adoption fees and get back on their feet financially. Raising two little boys under the age of 2 is not easy for anyone....especially when you are not financially ready for it.
I love these people with all my heart, and I have fallen in love with their boys as if they were my own family. Becky and Richard have worked through so many trials together over the years, and they have wanted to be parents for SO long. God has truly blessed them with the most amazingly beautiful and healthy children they could have asked for, and my hope is that they will be able to go into the New Year with love, support, happiness....and financial peace of mind.
