Hi, I’m Chelsea. I’m in my final year of nursing and so close to graduating into the career I’ve worked so hard for.
Student nurses can’t work during our full-time placements, so we save what we can just to cover rent and food. With multiple sclerosis (MS), reliable transport with air conditioning is essential. My old car has finally died, despite my best efforts to keep it running. Without it, I can’t safely get to placements, work, or medical appointments.
I also live with chronic fatigue and relentless nerve pain, which means catching public transport after a long placement shift isn’t possible — it would simply be too exhausting. A safe car would give me the independence to drive myself home, rather than face hours of travel I can’t physically manage.
Asking for help is the most humiliating thing I’ve had to do, but I’ve run out of options. I’m hoping to raise $5,000 for a safe, second-hand car to carry me through this last stretch of my degree.
Every donation or share brings me closer to finishing my studies and finally becoming the nurse I’ve always dreamed of being. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me keep moving forward.
