The Fowlies of Big M Auto home lost to housefire

John Fowlie and his wife, M’Lisa Batey Fowlie, along with her sister M’Chel Batey had a structure fire at their home, Big M Auto in Williams, CA on 5/10/2023.

The house and contents are a total loss. 12 project cars were also burned completely. Due to the age of the home, wood stove heat, and perceived distance from the fire station, insurance coverage was denied.

Anyone that knows them, knows they are hard working people and would give the shirts off their backs to anyone in need. Well now they are in great need.

M’Lisa Batey Fowlie suffered severe carbon monoxide poisoning, due to smoke inhalation, and was hospitalized for 3 days. John Fowlie and M’Chel Batey received on-site breathing treatments for smoke inhalation.

Their lab “Hemi” survived, and their friend Kyle Parker is caring for her temporarily. Sadly, their cats Hellcat, Nash Rambler, and Rocket Olds did not survive the fire.

As they rebuild their lives, they will need our love and support in all forms. The cause of the fire is still being determined, it began outside and caught the house as a result. The firefighters did a wonderful job of saving the rest of the buildings and cars.

At this time they are in need of everything.
