The Day Off 4 Solidarity Campaign
Donation protected
We recognize the hurt, pain, anguish, physical and emotional stressors that Black people are experiencing during the pandemic in parallel with the 400+ years of racial trauma and retraumatization. Black people deserve better. They did not ask for inequality; instead, they have survived it. Systematic inequality was created by white people. It is time for white people to step up to the plate and do better. This Campaign is an opportunity for white people to stand with Black people in solidarity by giving them a day off in order to make rest, mental health supports, demonstrating, and self-care POSSIBLE. We also encourage the recognition that the demonstrations Black people are participating in and leading require physical and mental labor in addition to financial sacrifices within a system where institutional inequality already exist.
