The Curro Family

If you live in Dalton or the surrounding towns, you probably heard or even saw the fire that devoured the Lennon family home on Friday, May 13. This home was undergoing renovations that John Curro, husband of Marybeth Curro (Lennon), was working on for their daughter, Kristin and her family, who purchased the home from the Lennon matriarch in June 2021. The house had been in their family since the 60s.

A little about Kristin and her family. Kristin is a veteran, EMT and nursing student and her husband, Michael, is also a veteran and volunteer firefighter. They have an 8 year old son and were looking forward to the future of raising him in the family home. When Michael and Kristin purchased the house in June of 2021, they began renovating the house with Kristin's father, John, bringing back life and much needed love and updates to the home.

For the last 11 months John had poured his heart and soul into the house. He would come home in the evenings from a long day of work, eat a quick dinner, and do more work renovating the house. John and Michael would talk through how they could bring out the best in the old home. It seemed as though all of John's free time the last 11 months had been spent there, trying to bring this home up to date. With spending so much time there, John left most of his tools and building supplies inside the house. So when the fire ravaged through the home it did not only destroy a family heirloom, it also took with it all of John's tools that had been acquired over the years.

As you probably know, tools are not cheap. And if you know John you know that working with his hands and his tools is how he makes a living. Though insurance will cover many things, he still needs his tools to work and unfortunately, with insurance, nothing is quick. This go fund me is specifically for John so he can get back onto his feet after losing what he has worked so hard for.

A note from the family- they would love to use some of these funds for a neighborhood barbecue and to give back to the local fire department.
