This story is about two Swedish circus performers, Calle, who is my brother, and Benjamin. Together they are part of a talented ensemble consisting of eight artists from the Canadian circus group Machine De Cirque. As they are preparing to perform at the prestigious competition "Cirque du Demain" (Circus of Tomorrow) in Paris, which is considered the circus world's equivalent to the Olympic Games. This competition will be broadcast on television in France, Germany, and Canada, giving them the opportunity to reach millions of viewers.
By following the whole group this film offers an intimate portrayal of the lives of circus artists, highlighting their dedication, passion, and the sacrifices they make to pursue their dreams.
It provides a captivating exploration of the vibrant yet challenging lives of circus artists, giving an authentic glimpse into their extraordinary world. The film not only highlights their remarkable talents and artistry but also delves deeply into the personal narratives that shape their performances. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Paris, this documentary delves into the extraordinary lives of circus artists, exploring not only their remarkable skills but also the emotional and personal journeys they embark on in their quest for gold at the Circus Olympics.
Our journey will span from Monday to Sunday. The competition is structured around two shows—A and B—where the standout acts move on to the final on Saturday, leading up to a thrilling grand finale on Sunday. The ever-present fear of not qualifying for the final heightens the stakes. While this demanding week offers the promise of significant career breakthroughs, it also takes a toll on the performers. Acrobats endure a range of challenges which could be everything from bruises and broken bones to fatigue and injuries, all in pursuit of their dreams.
Calle who faced difficulties in school as a child; he struggled with dyslexia and found it challenging to find his place in society. It wasn't until he joined the circus at Cirkus Cirkör's circus gymnasium at the age of 15 that he discovered a driving force in his life.
Benjamin comes from an extraordinary artistic family; his grandfather was Beppe Wolgers, a Swedish legend within Swedish culture. He has two brothers, both of whom are very successful within the arts. As a child, Benjamin was involved in gymnastics, but it was only when he started with the circus that he realized he had found his own niche in life. He also started Circus Cirkör's circus gymnasium at the age of 15.
Except for sharing the same birthday this two guys realized that they were a great circus duo together.
Timeline: We are seeking funding to support the production of our film, which is scheduled to be shot on location in Paris from January 19th to 27th, 2025.
Filming Locations: Our filming will take place in Paris, focusing on the venues where the competition occurs, as well as other significant locations in the city that will enhance the film's ambiance.
Budget: All donations will be dedicated solely to bringing this film to life. Our crew will consist of just four members while shooting, allowing us to keep production costs as low as possible. Contributions will cover accommodation during the shoot, transportation, and meals for the team while filming.
Funding Goals: Our primary goal is to raise enough funds to cover all essential expenses related to the production.
We have been eager to create this documentary for a long time because we believe it shines a light on a unique aspect of society that has yet to be fully explored. The Circus Olympics provides the perfect backdrop for this project, and we feel that now is the right time to embark on this journey.
In a time where support for art and culture is limited and funding opportunities are increasingly hard to find, it is essential for individuals to unite in promoting and preserving creative expression. In the face of these challenges, our determination to advance this project has never been stronger. We wholeheartedly believe in the importance of this story and are resolutely committed to bringing it to life, no matter the obstacles that lie ahead.

Denna berättelse fokuserar på två svenska cirkusartister, Calle, som är min bror, och Benjamin. Tillsammans ingår de i en talangfull ensemble bestående av åtta artister från den kanadensiska cirkusgruppen Machine De Cirque. Vi kommer att följa gruppen när de förbereder sig för att uppträda på den prestigefyllda tävlingen "Cirque du Demain" (Cirkusens Framtid) i Paris, som anses vara cirkus världens motsvarighet till de Olympiska spelen. Denna tävling kommer att sändas på television i Frankrike, Tyskland och Kanada, vilket ger dem möjlighet att nå ut till miljontals tittare.
Genom att följa hela gruppen strävar vi efter att ge en nära och personlig inblick i cirkus artisternas liv, där deras hängivenhet, passion och de uppoffringar de gör för att förverkliga sina drömmar står i fokus.

Med Paris som sin förtrollande bakgrunden och de extraordinära liv som cirkusartister lever, utforskar denna dokumentär inte bara deras anmärkningsvärda färdigheter utan också den känslomässiga och personliga resa de genomgår i jakten på att vinna guld vid Cirkusolympiaden i Paris i januari 2025.
Vår resa kommer att sträcka sig från måndag till söndag. Tävlingen är uppdelad i två shower—A och B—där de framstående numren går vidare till finalen på lördagen, vilket leder fram till en spännande grand finale på söndagen. Den ständigt närvarande rädslan för att inte kvalificera sig till finalen höjer insatserna. Medan denna krävande vecka erbjuder löftet om betydande karriär genombrott, tar den också ut sin rätt på artisterna. Akrobaterna utstår en rad utmaningar, från brutna ben till trötthet och skador, allt i jakten på sina drömmar.
Som barn kämpade Calle med dyslexi och hade svårt att hitta sin plats i världen. Det var först när han som 15-åring började på Cirkus Cirkörs cirkusskola som han upptäckte den drivkraft som skulle forma hans liv.
Benjamin kommer från en enastående konstnärlig familj; hans farfar var Beppe Wolgers, en svensk ikon inom kulturscenen. Han har två bröder, båda verksamma inom konstfältet. Som barn var Benjamin aktiv inom gymnastik, men det var först när han började med cirkus som han insåg att han hade funnit sin sanna nisch i livet.
Förutom att de hade samma födelsedag insåg de två killarna att de var ett fantastiskt cirkus team tillsammans.
Tidslinje: Vi söker finansiering för att stödja produktionen av vår film, som är planerad att spelas in på plats i Paris från den 19 till 27 januari 2025.
Inspelningsplatser: Vår inspelning kommer att äga rum i Paris och fokusera på de platser där tävlingen äger rum, samt andra betydelsefulla platser i staden som kommer att förbättra filmens atmosfär.
Budget: Alla donationer kommer att ägnas uteslutande åt att förverkliga denna film. Vår besättning kommer att bestå av endast fyra medlemmar under inspelningen, vilket gör att vi kan hålla produktionskostnaderna så låga som möjligt. Bidrag kommer att täcka boende under inspelningen, transport och måltider för teamet medan vi filmar.
Finansieringsmål: Vårt primära mål är att samla in tillräckligt med medel för att täcka alla nödvändiga kostnader relaterade till produktionen.
Vi har länge velat skapa den här dokumentären eftersom vi tror att den belyser en unik aspekt av samhället som ännu inte har utforskats fullt ut. Cirkusfestivalen utgör den perfekta bakgrunden för detta projekt.
I en tid där stöd för konst och kultur är begränsat och med bristande finansieringsmöjligheter är det avgörande att människor kommer samman för att främja och bevara kreativt uttryck. rots dessa hinder är vi mer beslutsamma än någonsin att driva detta projekt framåt. Vi tror på betydelsen av denna berättelse och är fast beslutna att göra den till verklighet, oavsett vilka hinder vi möter.
