The Chad Dorrill Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Chad Dorrill Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established in the memory of  Chad Dorrill who died at the age of 19 due to complications of Covid-19.  Chad was a sophomore at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he was studying Exercise  Science with the intention of becoming a Physical Therapist. 

In honor of Chad wearing #10 on his high school basketball jersey, for the next 10 years, The Chad Dorrill Memorial Scholarship Fund will award two local high school seniors a scholarship to help them reach their dream of a college education, as Chad’s life was cut much too short and he was unable to fulfill his.

In honor of our beloved son, we continue to ask all college students living on and off college campuses around the country to please continue to wear your masks and quarantine if you are positive or waiting for results. Please do not put your friends or classmates life in danger as each person can react so differently to this virus.
