The Brick Tavern Bartenders Relief Fund

By now, we are sure you have all heard the news of the mandated closings of bars and restaurants across Illinois. The news came abruptly, as did our following of said protocols, in a unified front. With heavy hearts, we watched our doors close to the public.

The Brick family's primary concern was, as it has always been, the safety of our patrons as well as all of us whom were/are employed there. It was/is imperative that we continue to honor the restrictions stated within the Illinois state's order, carrying out our industry's responsibility towards preventative measures, including the temporary closing of our doors to the public. Unfortunately, this did bring a newfound reality to many of the bartenders here.

It goes without saying, that on behalf of all of the Brick Tavern's bartending staff, conversing daily with our regulars, sharing newfound memories with first-time patrons, and providing an awesome experience to all whom frequent our establishment, was quite a loss that we hadn't ever experienced before. Yes. This was quite an adjustment for us too!

We have proudly crafted more than just a few drinks. The relationships we formed, the incredible memories and the dedication that all of us cherished...felt...so far away. So we did what we could to bring your favorite Southside Tavern to you, at home! (Anna and Roxi will continue their Friday Quarentine Bar Bash on FB Live during this time.)

Until we can once again bring the great times to you in person, we take pride in knowing that we are still able to keep in touch and provide a few smiles, while all of you are safe and sound at home. However, the reality of our closing, does also bring forth a pretty harsh monetary strain.

All of us have deliberated for quite sometime, whether or not to reach out during this uncertain time. This is ultimately how our virtually aired segments were born! We wanted to bring The Brick Tavern experience back to you, but in accordance with the mandates.

We are not asking for direct donations, but rather a virtual "tip" of sorts. If you join us on our live shows, or simply follow the page and can use just one of our quick-at-home recipes, we humbly ask for a small tip. We're industry professionals here, and definitely do not expect anything without a little bit of our own sweat and tears behind the bar that we all have come to know and hold dear to our hearts!

From all of us here at The Brick, you are ALL in our thoughts and prayers. Please be safe y'all!!! It's a short sacrifice in the long run and we cannot wait to be at your service again (in person), sharing laughs, beckoning smiles, and creating incredible moments over a cocktail/brew or two...

Until then, we'll see you every Friday night, virtually. Come rain or shine. God bless and a huge heartfelt thank you from all of us. You've become our family, and we miss you all so very much.

With love,
The Brick Bartenders
