The Alex and AJ Rodewald family fundraiser

Dear family and friends.

We have started this Gofundme account on behalf of my brother Alex and Aj.

On the morning of July 28th I took Alex to the Emergency Room because he complained of severe stomach pains.

He remained in the hospital for six days, most of which Alex still suffered severe stomach pains. The doctors thought he had pancreatitis and sent him home to heal on his own.

While home, the stomach pains never went away. 10 days later, Alex was again rushed to the emergency room, where the Doctors finally found out the cause of the problem, which was a blocked passageway from the pancreas to the intestines causing hazardous fluids to back up and into his body.

This caused Alex several complications with various procedures along with two major operations.

Alex stayed in the hospital this time from August 15th through October 9th. A total of 55 days. This whole time he was still in considerable pain because the pain medicines didn't work.

Also, Alex was not allowed to eat for about 46 days. He survived on his IV, ice chips and water.

Alex is home now and still a long way from being 100%. This is the first week he has tried to work a few days, but laying in bed for over two months has weakened him because his muscles have significantly atrophied.

Alex is a self-employed artist who, like many self-employed people, does not receive paid vacations, sick days, or personal days.

Alex has gone over 70 days without any form of income. So anything you can contribute would be helpful.

We are asking our family and friends to contribute to this Gofundme account to help Alex and Aj with life's reoccurring expenses until Alex gets back on his feet.
