Thanksgiving Meals for Homeless Families

As a little girl, I remember driving through neighborhoods in our nation’s capital. I noticed many people living on the street, walking around with no coat, in the dead of winter. I wondered how and if they were going to survive. As I continued to grow this image still flooded my heart and mind. I had identified the problem, just like everyone else who saw these human beings lying on park benches as they drove by, but what was I going to do about it? At age 14, I established my foundation, Jillian’s Gift: Love in Action, LLC.  Its mission is to provide homeless or impoverished people with different needs and even some wants. On an annual basis, I raise money to purchase Thanksgiving meals for families in halfway houses and homeless shelters. I hope to continue this year, especially with the devastating pandemic that is happening right now.
