Thames Water staff at Walnut Court in Swindon support a number of charities each year with each having an equal share from funds raised from fund raising events held over the year.
This year, the Thames Water Charity Heroes are going to throw themselves out of a perfectly good plane to raise funds for local charities which mean a lot to everyone in Swindon.
Phoenix Enterprises: Helping individuals with mental health issues, giving them opportunities to rebuild confidence whilst learning new skills in a supportive environment.
Mindsong: Helping people with dementia to remember, with friendship and without anxiety, through music and song.
Out of the Can LGBTQ+ Youth Group: A Swindon youth group, self-funded, where 13-19 year old youths can get adult support and direction on, homelessness, career, health, drugs, abuse, in a safe environment.
Swindon Night Shelter: Have a vision to be able to offer a safe, warm and secure place to spend the night for anyone over the age of 18 who has nowhere else to sleep.
Everyone needs to be accepted and treated with dignity. In a world of homelessness, addiction, fear, rejection and marginalisation the Swindon Night Shelter aims to come alongside the needy to show that somebody does care.
Big Breakfast Plus: Has been supporting and serving homeless people in Swindon since 1993. They are the only charitable organisation in Swindon to provide a free cooked breakfast, cereal and toast seven days a week and offer an opportunity for homeless people to meet and socialise in a warm and inviting place.
Nelson Trust: help make change possible by helping people address the underlying issues that drive them to substance misuse and offending. They believe people with multiple and complex needs, need to improve their health, their emotional well-being and overcome substance misuse in order to enhance their life choices.
