Terrionna's Study Abroad Trip

My name is Terrionna Brockman. I'm a junior Graphic Design major minoring in Spanish at Arkansas Tech University. My expected graduation date is Spring 2016. I really do appreciate those of you who have been following my journey here at ATU since my freshman year! I do want to make you all proud.

Spanish has always been a very interesting language to me. I even attempted to teach myself the language in junior high! I was so excited to be able to take spanish classes once I got to high school. My interest in the language is what made me decide to minor in Spanish once I attended college!

For those who don't know, I am BIG on diversity! I abosolutely LOVE learning about different cultures and meeting people of different backgrounds, languages, and beliefs. It is what makes the world interesting.

The opportunity to study abroad in Costa Rica was brought to me by my Spanish instructor. She explained to me that she believes that I would really benefit from the experience by being able to immerse in the Costa Rican culture and language. I would have the chance to live with a Costa Rican Host Family for 4weeks!!

I've never traveled outside of the Unites States, so traveling to Costa Rica, not for a vacation, but to learn and to enhance my Spanish, would be the experience of a lifetime!

This is an experience that I cannot get in a classroom. If I get to attend CRLA, I will be sure to keep you all updated on my progress and my experience!!!
