Please let me borrow a couple of minutes of your time and ask you to read this to the end.
I want you to imagine for a moment that you have herd the words “I’m so sorry your child has cancer” just let that sink in ... terrifying right!? You now get told about all the treatment which will include poison that they now need to have pumped into their body to make them better ! Words you’ve herd of before, words you’ve not heard, it’s a whole new world....”your “world has been turned upside down, in a moment. It will never, ever be the same. This will take months if not years of treatment.
The diagnosis is one thing ... but now you need to give up working ? How will you pay the bills ? How will you keep a roof over your families head ? How will you afford to get to hospital for all the appointments at a hospital at the least an hour away ??? Money should be the last thing you should need to think about at this moment in your child’s life , you just want to be there with them all the time. But the bills still need paying, you still need somewhere to live and you MUST get to the appointments! Most might assume you get help with this but the truth is most of the benefits you cant even apply for until 3 months after diagnosis !
So now I want to introduce you to a fighter like no other !!! Charlie Taylor was first diagnosed with cancer at age 15 he under went harsh chemotherapy and was even on life support ! But Charlie and his whole family battled one of the toughest fights! And against the odds he won his fight ! Charlie is now 18 he builds a whole new life for himself his family are involved in many charity events raising money for other family’s going through this awful world of childhood cancer. A family a whole community are in awe off! He got his driving license, started boxing again, football and even got himself a job ! A glimpse of what life should be for a young man is in sight .... he was touching it !
Sadly, something wasn’t right, Charlie didn’t feel himself and after several tests and long delays, the family were hit with those words AGAIN. Charlie and his family are hit with the news that Charlie’s now has a whole new fight with another cancer and this time he needs a bone marrow transplant. Before this Charlie will have to go through the harshest of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to be ready to receive his donor cells. There will be several weeks of complete isolation in hospital, more hospital day trips.... more hours, weeks and months lost with out being able to earn money.
There’s not much you can do for a family going through this horrible time but money helps ease the extra stress and worry ! So let’s dig deep and all help Charlie and his family by taking the edge of their financial strain they will endure over the next few months . Let’s help them be a family and be by Charlie’s side with out worrying about the bills stacking up! Let’s make sure they can still have an amazing Christmas 2019!
I’d like to ask our ever supporting community to pull together and try to help ease one of this family’s worries by raising a few quid. And that’s all it has to be guys, if we all put it a couple of quid we really could make such a difference to this family. Sadly we can’t change the fight, but we can change the financial stress. Please, I ask as a mum who’s daughter had cancer who was fortunate enough to have the community behind my Shannon, to do this again for our. #TEAMTAYLOR
