UPDATE : Yesterday, May 12th JD and Caroline met with his radiation oncologist, Dr. Alex Frank. JD had a Chemo treatment at Saratoga Hospital this past Thursday, the magic juice will be disconnected from his port today. The daily struggles and sacrifices they both go through everyday never fall short of showing us their continued strength and determination and what amazing humans they are
JD’s first radiation treatment will be on May 22nd and will be a 5 day rigorous marathon that will continue to prepare him for surgery within 7 to 14 days after the radiation is completed.
JD will then undergo a liver resection and a colostomy !!
JD and Care continue to stay strong and positive. Please join us in the continued payers and support. The road to recovery will be nothing short of a blessing to their love for one another and the continued outpouring of optimism and encouragement you all have shown. We will continue to update and please continue to donate whatever you can, when you can ♋️ ✝️

April 26th we shared optimistic news, gratitude and praise that JD was heading in the right direction with all the love and prayers given: His tumors have shrunk. Dr. Liebers is extremely happy with the progress so far! He will have his 7th chemo treatment tomorrow. He will have a follow up appointment with the surgeons on Monday to discuss the next steps. Either surgery or chemo/radiation. He will have another colonoscopy and MRI to follow. JD and Caroline feel it was a very positive appointment, they still have a long road ahead, they continue to stay very positive!
They want to thank everyone for all the ❤️ prayers and support.
Today, May 1st we wanted to share this update: JD met with Dr. Lee the surgeon. He did a mini colonoscopy and found that the tumor grew 20%. Next step is an MRI to determine if the tumor has grown outward onto muscle or inward into the rectum area. That will determine if surgery (liver resection & colostomy) is the next step or a combination of chemo and radiation. MRI is being scheduled ASAP and appointment with Radiation Oncologist is scheduled for May 12. As all of the Doctors have to collaborate together with this unique situation.
We again ask each of you to please continue prayer and walk beside our family, our friend, and the Bestest Guy to so many of our hearts ❤️ #TeamPackard

Hi my name is Kym Pingelski. I am JD and Caroline’s sister-in-law. Many of you that know JD have heard of the unfortunate news they were given on 12/1/22. JD was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colorectal Cancer. On January 12th JD started an aggressive Chemotherapy treatment. On January 25th he had unfortunate complications that was too close to the worse scenario. With this said, we hold on each day to trust, faith and a lot of prayers.
JD was forced into taking a hiatus from his business that he has built and loved. He now spends his days isolated at home battling the daily effects of his diagnosis and ongoing treatment. JD is one of the best guys around and has helped so many family, friends and clients over his lifetime. JD has spent years helping others and being “that guy” for so many. We are now asking for your support to pay it forward to help ease some of JD’s and Sweet Caroline’s financial strains associated with basic necessities and out-of-pocket medical needs to continue their uncertain future and courageous fight.
I have first hand seen the love and support so many have offered and reached out during this unimaginably difficult time. This is a time that we are asking JD, one of the best guys around, to humbly accept any donations from all of us that love, care and know him.
