Exciting news - This year the TaSH is celebrating its 5th year of serving our wonderful community. We are extra ambitious this year and hope to raise $7500 to support the market and all the programs we offer for you, our amazing community! Like every year, we have an amazing musical line-up, even more vendors, and children's activities every week. We continue (and plan to expand) our popular food access programs for our neighbors in need. Community organizations and local businesses will visit to provide information about the wonderful things they also do for our community. All of this is happening in our amazing villages, aren't we all so lucky! But, we need your support to continue to bring you all the amazing programs you love throughout the season.
So why is the TaSH doing a crowdfunding campaign again this year? Doesn't the market make all the money it needs with vendor fees? Well, yes and no. The fees paid by our vendors only covers about half of the costs associated with running the market. So what exactly would your dollars be supporting? Pretty much everything that happens at the market that makes you want to stay and enjoy the market every week (as in, all of our community, cultural and educational programs):
*50+ paid local live music acts - 2 every week! *27+ children's activities - At least one activity per week! *Food assistance programs: The TaSH matches SNAP benefits for community members in need. If someone comes with $20 in SNAP benefits, they get $40 to spend at the market *25+ community organizations represented at the market *Food samples of fresh in-season produce each week! *Our TaSH Hand program, hiring local high school students to help at the market throughout the season. *And of course the incredible vibe and wonderful experience the TaSH provides every Saturday!
All of the above programs are free and open to the public! We want to expand on our offerings and grow the TaSH to better serve the entire community and ensure our community thrives. And that costs some money. If we all chip in a little, the market will be an even more awesome place to hang out in 2019!
Here is a little perspective on what your donation can do for our vibrant community each week: *$30 supports the cost of our What's in Season sampling program *$60 provides support for our children's activities (cultural programming and creative arts, learning about food and where it comes from, etc) *$100 goes to support local live musicians who play at the TaSH *$200 helps 10 local families in need by doubling their SNAP benefits
INCENTIVES: If you donate $50 or more, you get your name on our website as a thank you to supporting the market. For $100 or more, you will get your name on the website, and a TaSH water bottle (or equivalent TaSH swag such as a kids T-shirt, picnic blanket or sweet tote bag, depending on availability). Please come to the TaSH tent to claim your reward after the end of the crowd funding campaign (Incentives pick-up available starting June 15).
