Talon's Recovery

Talon Vincent Loan was born this year on February 12th. On the 14th, he had to have his first surgery removing more than half of his small intestine due to a kink in it. After a 3 week stay at Seattle Children's Hospital, he went home and made great progress and growth. After only a month of being home, on April 10th, Talon went into cardiac arrest and had to get flown back to Seattle for treatment. He had another cardiac arrest that night, and his second surgery hours later.

They had found that new intestines had grown back during his rapid growth, and had formed yet another kink, which they tried to save by unraveling. They put a temporary patch on the incision and checked a day later, revealing that all of the small intestine, large intestine and colon had necrotized and needed to be removed. Since the procedure, he has been fighting hard and impressing all of the medical staff, but still has a long road to recovery ahead of him. After around 3 years of growth, he might be a candidate for a transplant surgery. Until then, he will be fed through an IV.

We are trying to raise money for ongoing care for Talon. We need to secure transportation for his appointments and need help with all the costs that come along with his condition and needs.  We are so grateful for all of the support and love being sent to our son.
