About me

Hi, my name is Sebastien (formerly Tabi).

I'm from Glasgow in Scotland but now based in Amsterdam. I'm a cyclist, drummer and LGBT+ sports charity volunteer. I'm trans masculine non-binary and my pronouns are they/them.

Why am I fundraising?

I'm raising money to help with medical and aftercare costs for gender affirmation surgery. (FTM Top Surgery)and healthcare - aiming for 2023.

I have been living with gender dysphoria all my life. A lot of my dysphoria is centred around my chest and body shape. After coming out as transgender and non-binary in 2019, a weight has been lifted from my shoulders, and I have received treatment from gender specialists. This healthcare and surgery would enable me to live as myself finally and begin to love my body rather than hate it.

Everyday is increasingly difficult, and even though cycling is the love of my life, it is hurting me. It breaks me that something I love is damaging my mental health. I cannot hide my body when cycling or during most of daily life, which gives me the most dysphoria.

Gender dysphoria is when a person feels immense stress because their innate gender identity does not match up to the gender they were assigned at birth.

Where I’m at

I have already been on various waiting lists for 3 years to see a gender specialist to be able to receive a referral for top surgery that’s covered by my insurance. This it can take up to 4-5 years going through the usual routes, and I know I have at least 2 more years to wait.

The wait directly affects my mental health and I have now decided to pay for it myself, but I cannot afford it without help.

What your donation will be for

Your contribution would help cover the costs of the surgical assessments, surgery and post-surgery aftercare and any other medical treatment and support needed. Gender affirming surgery is life saving, and I just want to live in my own body as me.

I know right now is a difficult time for everyone money-wise but any donation, sharing or support is greatly appreciated.

I will be sharing updates as time goes on!
