Hello!
We are writing to you today in hopes that you will support our upcoming community service trip to the Matonyok Parents’ Trust, an orphanage that ensures children in the Matonyok area near Arusha, Tanzania have the means to be happy and successful. This coming March, thirty students and teachers from King’s-Edgehill School will be travelling to Matonyok to add a classroom to this orphanage in order to expand the learning space and provide the opportunity for these children to have a prosperous future. All of the funds raised will contribute to the building materials and costs of the classroom.
In Tanzania there are over 3 million orphans and half of the population is under 18 years old. We believe that instead of distancing and dissociating ourselves from this problem, we endeavor to contribute to the communal growth of these people, and although it may only be to a small degree, a small act can go a long way. The cultural integration will be as important as the construction of the classroom because the students from both countries will learn lessons that last a lifetime.
Learning about the situations of these children and the hardships that they face everyday has inspired us to partake in this opportunity; we hope that with your support, the project will be a success in achieving sustainable futures for them. Any contribution you can offer will be greatly appreciated and we thank you so much for your consideration.
