This is a picture of my dear colleague and friend, Sharon Garcia, with her beautiful daughter Olivia "Livi" Garcia.
Last year, Sharon started experiencing pain in her right leg as a result of poor circulation and decided to have a bypass performed on the artery behind her right leg. Unfortunately, what started as one surgery turned into several. Then, while recovering from her seventh surgery in less than a month, Sharon succumbed to complications and was taken from us all last Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
The loss to her family, friends, and colleagues in the Industry has been impossible to describe. We all loved her so much.
Nothing meant more to Sharon and Bob, her husband of 25 years, than their two wonderful children: Livi and Benny. Sharon and Bob worked hard to give Benny and Livi the opportunity to realize a dream that Sharon had always hoped for but did not accomplish herself: to graduate from college.
Half of that dream was realized when Benny graduated from Arizona State University this past December 2015. Sharon and Bob were overjoyed and so proud. And last September, Livi started her freshman year studies at Saddleback College.
When I asked Bob, who is also a cherished colleague here at ValleyCrest Design Group, how we could best pay our respects to Sharon, he asked that in lieu of flowers and other gifts, that we kindly set up a college fund for Livi. This fund will go immediately and exclusively towards paying for Livi's tuition, books and academic materials.
We love you, Sharon, and we hope that in this small but meaningful way, we can all contribute to helping realize your greatest dream.
