Grow New Path Church ( A Church serving in Juvie)
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Jess and God has lead me on a pretty wild journey, leading a church inside Adelaide's Youth Detention Center. It has been an incredible and wild ride seeing this vision God planted in my spirit 5 years ago to it becoming a real church, with over 60 volunteers from over 24 different churches. We have had 5 young people say yes to Jesus in our humble services, we have even had a young person choose to get baptised. All of this is very exciting, however I know that my skills have taken me as far as I can go, and to keep growing and blessing these young people, whom I love with all my heart, and all my amazing volunteers I need to equip and train myself so I can lead with as much wisdom and knowledge as I can.
This is where I need you, you see late last year God told me I needed to sign up to do Arrow, an incredible Christian Leadership program. I promptly told him I didn't have $12,000, nor could I afford all the flights involved and that there was NO WAY I would be accepted into the course.
God promised me to trust him and he would find a way. I am very excited to announce I have not only been accepted into Arrow but I have been sponsored for $6,000. I consider this a miracle, however there is still $6,000 to go, plus flights or I simply can't afford to take this on. I have said yes in faith and paid my non refundable deposit, and now I pray and wait in faith that the rest of the money will be provided. God has never failed me yet and as much I don't see how this is possible, I know with God nothing is impossible.
If you feel passionate about young people in juvenile justice having access to church and knowing God, or maybe you just want to back a woman in leadership than anything you can donate will help me lead well. I can promise you to work tirelessly, to not waste this opportunity and to passionately lead these young people, never wasting a moment to share the Good News with them.
So what will the $7,500 be used for. Well the biggest chunk will be to pay the remainder of the Arrow Leadership course fees. I have allocated $1,100 for flights. These are for the residentials I have to attend. 2 in Brisbane and 1 in Melbourne. That totals 6 flights to and from Adelaide. The extra $400 is for accommodation, my accommodation for residentials is included in my course fees, however I want to use my time as efficiently as I can and I plan to stay on in Melbourne and Brisbane a few nights to meet with other Juvie chaplains, to encourage one another but also so I can learn as much as I can. Doing my job I am extremely isolated and this is an incredible opportunity to connect with people in my position. I am also hoping that this can also be a time I visit the other centers, also to learn and gain valuable insight which I can bring back to our Adelaide center.
Here is a link to the Arrow Leadership Program so you can get an idea what would be involved for me, if you are interested.
I am more than happy to meet with people, talk to churches, share the love I have for this ministry so even if you can't donate if you have anyone who you feel could benefit from me sharing my story please let me know.
And now I wait in faith, let's see what God does next
