Help Our Homeless

Spende geschützt
This Christmas, I want to give something that truly matters — warmth, dignity, and hope.

As of 31 March 2025 there were 6,567 open homelessness cases in Glasgow — this was 21% of all such cases across Scotland.
• In February 2025 there were 4,100 households in temporary accommodation in Glasgow, an increase of 9% on earlier.

• Glasgow accounts for 43% of all rough sleeping in Scotland.

Across Scotland, many people will spend the holidays on the streets, battling cold, hunger, and isolation. I’m putting together care packs for those in need, each filled with small but life-saving essentials.

This is so important to me as i’ve had personal experiences around homelessness, with myself, family and friends.

Many homeless people also have dogs/pets with them, and this type of companionship is so important because many homeless people go a long time without contact or kindness which is why I will also be including items in the care packs for their furry companions

Every bit donated will go directly toward a care pack containing:
A waterproof drawstring bag to handout/keep the items in
**** Mini First Aid Kit
Disposable toothbrush/toothpastes
Hairbrushes
• Hat, gloves, scarf and socks— warmth for freezing nights
• Sanitary products — restoring dignity and hygiene
• Non-perishable food — energy to get through the day
• Waterproof covering or blanket — protection from rain and frost
•Dog toys / dry food / wet food
• A list of charity’s that can help their pets in need
• ☎️ (Once within budget) Flip phone — a lifeline for emergencies and staying connected

They will also receive a handwritten card, with local shelter and charity addresses and information inside.

Why it matters

Rough sleepers can lose body heat up to three times faster than someone indoors.
Cold, damp weather increases the risk of hypothermia and illness.
Hygiene and contact with others are often out of reach.
People sleeping rough are more at risk of addiction, illnesses, trafficking and more.
While there isn’t anything I can personally do to house people sleeping rough in Scotland, I am committed to bringing compassion and kindness to what is already a terrifying and dangerous situation.

I asked a woman I saw in Glasgow sleeping rough one night, if she would like a hot drink. Her response was
“Thank you for even talking to me, most people ignore me or spit on me”.

I met a young man a few weeks ago sleeping rough, after being let down by social services once turning 18 in care after they failed to find him safe housing.

These small items might not seem like much, but for someone living outside, they can mean the difference between enduring and surviving.

My goal

I aim to make as many care packs as possible before Christmas, focusing on those sleeping rough in Glasgow and hopefully when I’ve raised enough- within surrounding areas.
Every pound goes directly toward buying supplies — nothing is taken for myself.

If we raise a little more, I’ll include extra items like flip phones, waterproof blankets, and other essential, but more expensive things.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, please share and donate if you can ❤️
