We are a group of Swan Lake residents who want to see the lake lit up again for all of Tulsa to enjoy during the holiday season.
Calling all residents [and anyone else who enjoys this little known Tulsa city park] to help raise money and round up volunteers to Light the Lake. For everyone new to Swan Lake, it's a time-honored tradition and it's more popular than Pokémon Go!
In the past, a group of about 10 people got together from the neighborhood to carry out this tradition, in recent years, we collected $$ to pay someone $2000 to do it. Last year, we didn't have enough money so we didn't have any lights. [and construction around the lake killed the power].
I don't know about you, but that made me sad. Let's get a group together this weekend and decorate our beautiful Swan Lake and help kick off the holiday season!!
The residents have tried to raise the funds on our own, and we made a great start, but we are just a few poeple taking on a daunting task. We need some help from you to make this happen!
Funds need to be in by Thanksgiving so we can buy the lights, and pay for the labor in hang, and take down.
On behalf of all Swan Lake residents we thank you for your generous donation from the bottom of our hearts! We love our lake, and we love even more to share its beauty with our neighbors.
